About Culpeper – JHB
Welcome to Culpeper, Virginia….. A GREAT AMERICAN MAIN STREET community. Culpeper is centrally located in the Piedmont River Valley between the Rappahannock and Rapidan Rivers and is just an hour’s drive from DC, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg and the Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. Recently, vineyards and wineries have contributed significantly to the area’s economy and tourism. While in Culpeper, savor inspired farm-to-fork chef creations, enjoy some unique shopping and take in a movie at the local theater. With a variety of specialty shops, galleries and restaurants, all in an award-winning historic Downtown, Culpeper has something to offer everyone. Culpeper also has several conveniently located modern shopping centers. It is this combination of small-town charm and metropolitan amenities which offer residents an excellent quality of life. Just 30 minutes to an hour south are James Madison’s Montpelier in Orange County and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, and James Monroe’s Ash Lawn-Highland both located in, or just outside of Charlottesville. To the east, a one-day circuit trip covers several significant battlefields of the Civil War, including the Battles of Brandy Station, Cedar Mountain, Kelly’s Ford, Chancellorsville, Wilderness and Fredericksburg. To the North within one hour’s drive to Washington DC, you can stop at the Manassas Battlefield Park, Arlington National Cemetery and George Washington’s Mt. Vernon. Just west of Culpeper, the lush Piedmont “horse country” rolls into the breathtaking views of the Rappahannock countryside and on to Virginia’s Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Jefferson Homebuilders, Inc., and its subsidiaries are, and continue to be, a prime force in the building of Culpeper and making our town a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.
